 Aim: Promoting Urban Debate

Incorporating Human Rights into Town Planning

This exhibition is aimed to open a debate about the relations between urban development and human rights and base a renewed urban practice on such rights, a urban practice which is able to include the environmental, economical, social and aesthetic worryings in a more civic and deeper sense.

The promoters' experience on this field R. del Caz, P. Gigosos and M. Saravia, have written The City and Human Rights , Madrid, 2002, as well as Reports on Valladolid from 2002 to 2004 and diverse articles about the same subject published in magazines such as Revista de Occidente, Arquitectura Viva, Archipiélago, Revista de Derecho Urbanístico, El Ecologista and so on, from 2003 to 2005 allows them to consider urban development in depth, providing concrete experiences derived from different cities in the world.
